Every week, Cameroonians lose money to crypto scammers. After 8 years in this business, we’ve seen every trick. Read this before trading with anyone, including us. A trader who hides this information from you is not protecting you.
Rule 1: Never release Bitcoin before money is in YOUR account.
A screenshot is not money. Scammers fake MoMo screenshots in seconds. Check your actual balance, dial *126# yourself, before releasing anything.
Rule 2: Beware of “too good” rates.
A rate far above market is the bait. Real businesses can’t pay significantly above market; they’d lose on every trade. The amazing rate disappears the moment your coins do.
Rule 3: No third-party payments. Ever.
The name on the payment must match the person you’re trading with. Third-party payments are how stolen money flows through your account, and you take the blocked account.
Rule 4: Verify who you’re dealing with.
A real trader has years of history, public pages, and clients who vouch. A scammer has a two-week-old account and pressure tactics.
Rule 5: Never share your wallet’s secret phrase.
No legitimate trader, platform, or “support agent” will ever ask for your 12-word recovery phrase. Anyone who does is stealing your wallet.
Rule 6: Slow down when pressured.
“Send now or lose the deal!” is the scammer’s main tool. A legitimate trader confirms a rate and gives you reasonable time.
