Quick answer (November 2026): Orange Money fees in Cameroon are lowest on transfers. Sending to another Orange Money account has no Orange fee, only the 0.2 percent + 4 FCFA levy, so 100,000 FCFA costs about 204 FCFA. Withdrawing costs 1 percent + 4 FCFA on Orange's current grid, or about 1,004 FCFA on 100,000, and tops out at 4,004 FCFA. You can send up to 500,000 FCFA per transfer and 1,500,000 FCFA per day.

Those figures come from Orange Money Cameroon's tariff page, which we checked on 6 November 2026. Our desk takes Orange Money payments and sends Orange Money payouts, and the fee is rarely what catches people out. The daily transfer cap and the old price lists floating around online cause more trouble. Below are the lookup table, the limits, the cost of crossing networks, and what all of it means for a Bitcoin or USDT trade.

The first two fee columns are calculated from Orange's published grid. The last column reflects Digital Business Africa's report, which says Max it withdrawals cost 1 percent while the #150# route stayed at about 1.5 percent + 4 FCFA. The figures marked "about" are our own calculations from that rate. Orange's tariff page does not split prices by channel, so read your confirmation message.

What are Orange Money fees in Cameroon in 2026?

Here is Orange's published grid in simple form.

OperationAmountFee
Transfer to Orange Money50 to 500,000 FCFANo Orange fee, plus 0.2% + 4 FCFA
Withdrawal50 to 4,999 FCFA54 FCFA

Withdrawal without a card (cardless)Any3%, capped at 5,000 FCFA

The biggest lesson is that moving money is cheap and taking it out as cash is not. On 100,000 FCFA, a withdrawal costs about five times as much as a transfer. If you can pay the next person directly from your wallet, you skip the most expensive step.

Be careful with cardless withdrawal. Three percent of 100,000 FCFA is 3,000 FCFA, about three times the standard 1,004 FCFA. Use it when you have no other option, not out of habit.

What are the Orange Money limits in 2026?

These are the value limits Orange lists for standard customer accounts.

LimitMaximum in FCFA
One transfer500,000
Transfers per day1,500,000
One withdrawal500,000
Withdrawals per day2,500,000
One payment1,000,000
Payments per day2,500,000
All transactions per day6,000,000
Cash loaded per day2,000,000
Loaded by bank transfer per day5,000,000
Maximum wallet balance5,000,000

Orange also lists monthly volume limits for customer wallets: 300 transfers, 300 withdrawals and 300 deposits. Few personal users reach them, but a small business running every sale through one line could.

Two limits matter most for trading. The 1,500,000 FCFA daily transfer limit decides how much you can send to a seller in one day. The 5,000,000 FCFA wallet limit decides how much you can hold, which matters if you are about to receive a large payout. Your own line can sit below these figures if its registration is incomplete. Dial #150# and check it yourself before a big trade.

Why do websites show different Orange Money prices?

Because old grids never die online. You will still find claims of 0.5 percent on transfers, a 1,000 FCFA transfer cap, 1.5 percent on withdrawals and a 3,500 FCFA withdrawal cap. Some of those figures even remain on an older tariff page on Orange's main site, next to a 750,000 FCFA daily withdrawal limit. The dedicated Orange Money site we cite above shows the newer grid.

When two sources disagree, trust these three in order: the confirmation message on your phone, Orange's own simulator, and the dedicated tariff page. A blog comes last, including this one. Operators revise tariffs, so treat every table here as correct on the date we checked it.

How much are Orange Money transfer charges to another network?

Sending across the GIMAC network, including to another operator or bank, costs far more than staying on Orange Money.

Amount sent via GIMACFee
500 to 10,000 FCFA264 FCFA
10,001 to 149,000 FCFA2.6% + 4 FCFA
149,001 to 1,000,000 FCFA0.2% + 3,580 FCFA

That gives about 1,304 FCFA on 50,000, about 2,604 FCFA on 100,000 and about 4,580 FCFA on 500,000. Compare that with 204 FCFA and 1,004 FCFA for the same 100,000 and 500,000 inside Orange Money. The percentage bite is worst in the middle bracket, right where everyday trades sit.

So ask which network the receiving line uses before you agree a rate. On a 100,000 FCFA trade, the wrong network can cost about 2,400 FCFA more. MTN has its own version of this cost, covered in our MTN MoMo limits and fees guide. For a side-by-side view, read Orange Money vs MTN MoMo for crypto.

How do Orange Money limits change a Bitcoin or USDT trade?

The fee stays small. The real effect is on your timing.

Say you want to buy 1,200,000 FCFA of USDT. That takes three transfers: 500,000, 500,000 and 200,000. The total levy is about 2,412 FCFA. On MTN, the same money takes two transfers and costs about 2,408 FCFA, so the fee barely changes. What does change is the number of steps. Three legs mean three confirmations, and more time for a rate to move, so agree in advance how each leg will be handled.

Now say you want to buy 2,000,000 FCFA. Orange Money cannot send that in one day because of the 1,500,000 FCFA limit. The trade has to run across two days, or you need another line in your own name. Tell the desk before you start. We confirm each leg in writing, so a split trade stays clean. Never borrow a friend's line to get around the limit, because third-party payments are how accounts get frozen. Our guide on frozen MoMo accounts explains how that happens. First-time buyers should also read our first purchase checklist.

The same goes for the money coming back when you sell Bitcoin for FCFA. A payout above 500,000 FCFA reaches an Orange Money line in several transfers, and your wallet cannot hold more than 5,000,000 FCFA. If you are selling a large amount, tell us early so we can plan the legs. Get a live quote on WhatsApp with your amount and network, and we will set out each leg before you send anything.

Orange Money works the same way for us as MTN: same written quote, same process. You can read the steps on our Bitcoin with MoMo page, or see how to buy and sell Bitcoin in Cameroon. Our desk buys above the market rate, about 20 FCFA more per $1 on average, and the rates page shows today's position.

What is the cheapest way to cash out Orange Money?

Withdraw in larger amounts, not smaller ones, once you are near the flat fee. Here is 900,000 FCFA cashed out three ways on the official grid.

How you withdraw 900,000 FCFATotal fee
500,000 + 400,0008,008 FCFA
Three of 300,0009,012 FCFA
Nine of 100,0009,036 FCFA

The saving is real but modest, about 1,000 FCFA. The bigger saving is not cashing out at all. Pay your suppliers or bills from the wallet where you can, because a transfer costs a fraction of a withdrawal.

Last, watch for fraud. A fake message or a fake agent can cost you far more than any fee in this article. Orange Money's site has its own anti-scam section, and our MoMo scams guide covers the tricks we hear about most. Never share your PIN, however official the caller sounds.

FAQ

How much does Orange Money charge to send 100,000 FCFA?

How much does it cost to withdraw 100,000 FCFA from Orange Money?
About 1,004 FCFA on Orange's published grid, which is 1 percent plus 4 FCFA. Press reports say a withdrawal through the #150# code can cost about 1,504 FCFA, while Max it stays at 1 percent. Check your confirmation message, and compare the channels if you withdraw often.
What is the maximum I can send on Orange Money per day?
The published limit is 1,500,000 FCFA in transfers per day, with a maximum of 500,000 FCFA in one transfer. Your own line can be lower if its registration is incomplete. Larger amounts need to run across more than one day.
How much money can an Orange Money wallet hold?
Orange lists a maximum balance of 5,000,000 FCFA for a standard customer wallet. If you expect a large payment, such as the proceeds of a big crypto sale, plan for that limit first and split the money across several days if needed.
Can I buy Bitcoin with Orange Money in Cameroon?
Yes. Orange does not sell Bitcoin, but a desk that accepts Orange Money can take your FCFA and send the coin to your wallet. Confirm the rate, the amount and the payment number in writing first. Start small, and pay only from a line registered in your own name.
